Enhancing Energy Production and Reducing Fatigue Naturally

Energy…a commodity that not all of us have and many desire more of.  It is something that the body produces, as a result of many factors, and something that keeps us going mentally and physically.  Long days at the office, excessive work at home or at the office and even strenuous mental activity all drain us of our energy.  Sometimes, a few days off or a good night’s rest is all that is needed to recharge the batteries, but other times we need a little pick me up due to long term exhaustion.  The good news is that there are many healthy and natural options available, which can greatly assist with natural energy production and reduce fatigue.

Our bodies produce energy through the breakdown of a molecule called ATP.  Every cell in our body requires bodily energy production to do its work, even on a basal level.  However, when we work our bodies harder, mentally and physically, the demand for energy production increases. Often beyond what our body is capable of producing.  This impacts our stamina and creates fatigue, limiting our desired abilities.

Concurrent illnesses and disease can limit bodily energy production and available energy for extracurricular activities. If you have ongoing concerns with low energy production and fatigue, it is best to consult with your physician to determine if any organic health problems exist.

The basics of bodily energy production:

  • Diet is the main fuel that assists in energy production within your body.  A proper diet, full of natural and readily available nutrients, including fats, carbohydrates, protein and micronutrients is essential for energy production and cellular health. You need to always eat a balanced diet in order to feel your best.   Think of it like using the lowest grade fuel in a high performance sports car. Over time, it will cause internal damage and lower than optimal performance.
  • Carbohydrates are one the main substrates used for energy production. Complex carbohydrates are the best choice for improving stores of glycogen in the body.
  • Fats can also be used by the body for energy production, but a higher intake of saturated or omega-6 fatty acids can cause more harm than good.
  • Protein is needed in optimal amounts for tissue repair and cellular function
  • You need cellular health for energy production internally, despite dietary intake.

We are what we eat.

If we don’t consume the right fuel for the body, we will run low on energy and be more susceptible to disease. We need the right fuel not just for energy production, but for cellular repair and immune function. Nutrition is key in most cases and the missing link for many people in their daily routines.

Now, even a healthy diet has limitations.  As we age, our ability to produce energy diminishes as often does our appetite.  Aging is closely linked with inflammation and oxidative cellular damage which impacts cell function. This happens not just on an energy production level, but also on a degenerative level. As we age our energy declines and we are more subject to joint conditions and other health ailments. This limits our ability to function as desired and also puts more energy demands on our body internally. Thus, as health declines, energy demands are higher, energy production lower and fatigue is more common.

It is crucial to understand that many factors come into play with energy production internally:

  • You need healthy lungs and heart because you need oxygen.
  • Cellular health in regards to energy production must be optimal

Can we improve these processes?  The answer to this is ‘yes’, but the contributors to each individual person can vary and thus the answer to every person is not the same. ,

Cur-OST® Formulas that can assist with improved energy production:

In the end, we have many options for enhancing natural energy production within our bodies. It is not a ‘one size fits all’ type of approach.  Most people benefit from increased exercise and a higher plane of nutrition, whether if that is strictly dietary or supplemental.  However, some of us require a higher level of assistance. Through any approach, our goal is to improve health and improve cellular function which includes energy production.  As your health improves, you will feel more energy.
